A look at Belgium’s painting rising star Rinus Van de Velde’s latest work

Kicking off a month-long program of art-infested features (portfolio presentations, studio visits and artist interviews), we begin with the portfolio of up-and-coming Belgian artist Rinus Van de Velde. The Antwerp-based youngster has made a name for himself with his oversized and furious charcoal drawings which blend fiction with reality (he often is his own protagonist) with his now signature stern stroke. We’ll be interviewing Rinus in the days to come to talk about his take on the local art scene, his approach to art-making and his daily inspirations but, before that, we’re pleased to show ten of his most recent works.
