Matthieu Ronsse, a Kortrijk native and graduate of Ghent’s Art Academy, is one of the most promising painters of his generation. Blending everyday still lifes with pin-up girls and elements inspired by Da Vinci, Goya or Velazquez, his oeuvre is a as eclectic as it is fascinating. When we asked Ronsse for a tour of his studio, he welcomed us into his home. Indeed, contrary to most other artists we’ve visited up until now, Ronsse paints all his creations not in an atelier but all around the house. Have a look.
