The Word Magazine turns 5!

After five years and 25 editions, time is ripe to throw ourselves a little party, get the champagne out and celebrate. What can you expect? A night of Belgian beats (we've enlisted the cream of the crop of Belgium's beat scene to bring some bass to the dance floor), photography treats (the launch of a commemorative photo book we've been working on for the past three months) and future foundations (we're about to ask you to put your money where your mouth is and show some love). Date: Friday 22nd February from 20h00.

Venue: Komplot, 295 Avenue Van Volxemlaan, 1190 Brussels. It’s literally a two minute walk from Wiels. Find it on Google Maps here.

Entrance: Five euros gets you a copy of ‘The Word Magazine presents 5′ our hand-numbered commemorative photo book and a welcome drink on the house. Free entrance gets you, well, free entrance.

Line up: VUURWERK (Live), Mountain Bike (Live), Dalai Lama Renaissance (DJ set), Onda Sonora (DJ set), RunTellSecrecy (DJ set), Cupp Cave (DJ set) and Nosedrip (DJ set).

‘The Word Magazine presents 5′ – A commemorative photo book.

Limited to a 1,000 copies and hand-numbered, ‘The Word Magazine presents 5′ features a selection of 50 photographs that were originally published in The Word Magazine and on its website between 2008 and 2013. The photo book will be launched at our birthday bash on 22nd February and will go on sale for 5 euros. It’ll also be available on our website and in selected shops.

We’ve teamed up with the ingenious minds at Theophile’s Papers to put together a made-to-measure shelf that’ll showcase our 25 editions to date. The custom-made shelf will be making its debut at our birthday party.
