DJ Athome, who has his own weekly radio show on Brussels’ Radio Panik, is resident at the infamous Palais Chalet parties and a member of Pneu Records, compilers of a Palais Chalet compilation that was recently dubbed “Belgian release of the year” by our music guru Bart Sibiel. He’s recorded this exclusive mix for The Word Magazine, of which he says: “The mix is done in the same way I do Bis Art Shaker, my weekly radio show: it’s not a dancefloor mix but more mental and experimental.” Scroll down and see for yo’ self.

DJ Athome can be found on Radio Panik 105.4 FM Brussels every Wednesday from 20h30 – 22h

Can you tell us about the exclusive track on the mix?

The exclusive track is by 40 Thieves, taken from a private release on vinyl. I met the guy last year in San Francisco and I love to play this track…

When and where did you record the mix?

On Sunday afternoon, at home!

What’s your favourite track on it?

The new Ceephax album, “Cro Magnox”,  recently released on the Brussels-based Weme label is really fabulous and this one is (one of) my fave track on this 3 LP album. Massive.

What do you have coming up in the next few weeks?

On 28 June I’m playing Café Central in Brussels with the Palais Chalet Crew (Pneu Records) and I’ll be back in Rome soon to play some music on the beach with the crew from Pescheria (One Dice).  The first EP from Front de Cadeaux – my latest project with Hugo Sanchez (Alien Alien) and producer Rodion from Gomma / Eskimo – is out soon on Roccodisco.
