A mix to listen to at home on a slow summer evening by Antwerp’s Jj Funhouse-affiliated Milan W.
Can you describe yourself in a few words?
On a productive day I’m in a constant search for new melodies, harmonies, sounds… Sometimes I find it hard to concentrate during the day and then I end up listening to the same loop or idea for hours… After a long break I get back home with a lot of energy. Then I work till late.
How did you first start making music? How does it fit into your life?
I started playing the guitar when is was 12 years old.. Then I went to study Jazz. Since then I started recording music at home a lot. It’s the only thing I do.
Is music a fulltime thing for you at the moment?
Yes, it’s a fulltime thing.
Can you describe the mix in a few words? What is its overriding influence, where would it best be enjoyed, what makes it special?
Nothing special. It’s maybe slow. I enjoy this music when I stay home on a summer evening.
Can you tell us about the exclusive track on the mix?
Unfortunately it’s one of my own. I don’t own exclusive tracks from other people. It’s a track I made as a replacement for one that will be on my upcoming album. I realised the original was better so I never touched or looked at it again..
When and where did you record it?
In my studio. It’s a mess. A glass of wine with some mold on top. Next to it the empty bottle. Electronics that i started to fix half a year ago… Surrounded by a marzipan factory next door, and on the other side a jewish butcher.
What do you have coming up in the next few weeks?
There is an album coming out in September.
