3. Thursday 2nd March: Adamn Killa and Killavesi at In De Ruimte, Ghent

Before heading to Amsterdam’s Progress bar and London’s Bala Club, pink-haired Chicago rap queen and king Killavesi and Adamn Killa land in Ghent’s In De Ruimte art space for an intimate showcase. The perfect occasion to discover the two rising stars.

4. Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th March: Kraak Festival at Beursschouwburg, Brussels

5. Friday 3rd March: Actionnaires at Barlok, Brussels

Itinerant party concept Actionnaires lands at Brussels’ Barlok for its 19th edition, hosting the release party of tropical electro duo Nova Materia, and French lo-fi garage Tropical Horses, with on support the always dependable DJ Athome.

6. Friday 3rd March: Oogst x Cinema Zuid at Cinema Zuid, Antwerp

Inaugurating independent arts and literature magazine Oogst’s third year and its accompanying ninth edition, its team collaborates with the city’s Cinema Zuid for Cameo, a series of movie nights where authors, artists and directors are set to present their favourite cinema classics to the public, who then gets to decide which title gets projected. For its first edition, visual artist Rinus Van De Velde, photographer Herman Selleslags and director Fien Troch are taking each other on.

7. Friday 3rd March: Actress, Ssaliva and Nosedrip at Artefact, STUK, Leuven

STUK’s yearly Artefact festival has, true to tradition, more than a couple of surprises in stall. For its fifth concert night, the cultural hotspot invited Liège royalty Ssaliva and British unpredictable electronica explorer Actress.

9. Saturday 4th March: Onder ons at CIAP, Hasselt

Taking CIAP art centre’s historical ties and references as a starting point, the Onder Ons (“Amongst us”) group exhibition explores contemporary cultural values and ideologies in a rapidly changing world. Runs until 14th May.

10. Sunday 5th March: Jonwayne at Vooruit, Ghent

With releases on Peanut Butter Wolf’s Stones Throw and HouseShoes’ Street Corner Music imprints, rap wizard Jonwayne, who first began his career as a producer, has carved out a niche for himself through sheer hard work, lyrical dexterity and production perfection. As part of his Lefto presents series, the one often-labeled Europe’s tastemaker brings this unique talent to Ghent’s Vooruit, with Brussels’ Zwangere Guy on support. Don’t sleep.
