2. Friday 12th August: Films in het Bos @ Bosbar, Antwerp

From 12th to 20th August, Antwerp’s Bosbar will be putting on daily movie screenings, curated by filmmakers Anne Reijniers and Eva van Tongeren. This Friday the programme kicks off with’Yoko Osha’ by Lazara Rosell Albear and ‘Bare Faced’  by Sammy Baloji (who currently has an exhibition at WIELS that closes in four days) and Lazara Rosell Albear.

3. Friday 12th August: Patersholfeesten @ Patershol, Ghent

Ghent’s oldest neighbourhood sets off this year’s edition of the Patersholfeesten with the traditional late-night shindigs at White Cat bar, afternoon hangouts at local museum Huis van Alijn, outdoor concerts and laid-back summer hangouts.

5. Saturday 13th August: Sick Thoughts @ Le Chaff, Brussels

Baltimore garage punk outfit Sick Thoughts pass by Marolles’ bar Le Chaff on their European tour. Represented by legendary record imprint Slovenly records, they’re quite known for their blasting and uncompromising tunes. And to top it off, the entrance is free. More money, more beers.

6. Saturday 13th August: Different Class @ 019, Ghent

Independent music magazine Subbacultcha’s yearly festival boasts a line-up as fresh as mint-flavoured Ice Tea. Line-up hotshots include Dutch pop chanteuse Bea1991, New York rapper and producer LE1F and DeeWee records’ Asa Moto.

7. Saturday 13th August: Objects and works by Axel De Marteau and Puck Rouvroye @ Ambiorixkazerne, Tongeren 

Axel De Marteau (BE) and Puck Rouvroye (NL) started collaborating whilst in residence at Tongeren’s Ambiorixkazerne. Both of their practices are rooted in photography, yet they constantly strive to explore the limits and possibilities of the medium as a whole. They’ll be showing the resulting work from their residency stay this Saturday, with the exhibition running until 11th September.

8. Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th August: BUITENverblijf x Half Oogst @ Hogeschool, Leuven

Onkruid, the same collective that’s behind Horst festival, turns Leuvens’ Hogeschool square into a cultural creative haven this weekend, with a Tangram Records label party on Saturday, and a Sunday line-up courtesy of Money $ex Records.
