Friday 14th April: The Outcasts Edition release party at Hunting and Collecting, Brussels

Our April-May edition just hit the streets, and to celebrate it we’re hosting a little get-together at downtown concept store Hunting and Collecting and invited DJs Nobuo and Exalt for some cosy tunes. There’ll be an open bar courtesy of Rémy Martin, and more than a couple of surprises. Come one, come all.

Thursday 13th April: Deep Web at Universal Club, Brussels

Contemporary hip hop at its best this Thursday at Brussels’ legendary Universal Club – featuring the saturated beats of Krampf, Melissa Lacoste’s autotuned r’nb goodness, Larme De Cristal and Joeuurp’s hybrid bars, and DJ sets by Flo Love and Moesha 13. Come early, leave late.

Thursday 13th April: D.D. Trans book launch at Valerie Traan, Antwerp

The work of D.D. Trans, the moniker of Frank Tuytschaever, always shows more than meets the eye. Everyday objects are handled in a poetic manner to question their meaning – giving them an estranging ambiguity. A true modern-time interpretation on readymades. He’ll be presenting his book Infidels at Antwerp design gallery Valerie Traan (whose openings are rumoured to be legendary – just saying).

Thursday 13th April: Alva Noto at Concertgebouw, Bruges

Berlin-based electronic wunderkind Carsten Nicolai – who goes by the stage name Alva Noto – heads to Bruges to present his new audiovisual performance UNIEQAV. Ridden with pure, mathematical and minimalist aesthetics, sound and image effortlessly blend together. Supporting the evening are Antwerp-based sound designer and one the frontrunners of contemporary musique concrete Yves De Mey and modular synth wiz Mathieu Serruys.

Ghent-based B.A.A.D.M. label invites three Swedish experimental analog producers -Posh Isolation’s Broken Lights and Händer som vårdar, and raw noise duo Milos Olympus – for a boundary-breaking evening.

Saturday 15th April: Garage Pirate: Lookatthedoor at Recyclart, Brussels

Luca Derom (aka Samuelspaniel) has collected, over the years, hundreds of cellphone-taken photographs of doorhandles and is presenting them to the public at Recyclart this Saturday, where he invited visual artists Gavin Vanaelst, Guido van Amelsfoort and Mathias Mu to create works inspired by the photos. Alongside, Hungarian prodigy Alley Catss is performing an – as rumour has it – stormy live set.
