Can you describe what you do?
I’m both manager and head chef at my restaurant TASTE, located in the heart of Leuven, where I also happen to live upstairs with my family. My day starts early in the morning with my top-notch team, and ends very late at night. In between all of this, I’m also a very proud father to my two amazing sons.
How do you perceive Leuven?
A living, breathing city with many events and sights to see, and where many people are still continuously welcome. The city is equally perceivable as a village: you’ll quickly get to know not just one or two, but many neighbours. It makes you feel warm and cosy the moment you step outside, or invite neighbours into your home.

On a personal level, what would you like to see more of in the city? What could it do better?
It’s hard to say what could be done better… Leuven’s alive and kicking, and is not just designed for its hefty student population. A beautiful city – and I’m a strong supporter of all its events and activities. The City is keeping itself very busy too, bringing certain places back to life through constant renewal and improvements.
If you had to take out-of-towners to one place that truly symbolises the city, what would it be?
Food and shopping: some passions I share with my wife. And we certainly have a great selection to choose from here in Leuven. I’d take visitors for breakfast and quality coffee first, checking out some of our excellent coffee bars. Following, a hefty lunch and extensive dinner, of course. My passion is naturally cooking so I’m all about great tastes, the simple pleasures of eating, and preparing something that I’m sure to enjoy myself.leuventaste.be
